PRESIDENT OBIANG NGUEMA CALLS FOR AN EXTRAORDINAY SESSION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF HEADS STATES AND GOVERNMENT OF THE GULF OF GUINEA COMMISSION

His Excellency Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and current Chairman of the Gulf of Guinea Commission since the 3rd Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission held on 10 August 2016, called for the 2nd Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission.

This extraordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission will be held in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, on 5 September 2016 under the chairmanship of the President of the Equatorial Guinea. The presidents of Angola, Cameroun, Congo, DR of Congo, Gabon, Nigeria and S. Tomé and Principe will attend the Meeting.

An Experts Meeting, from 30 August to 2 September, and a session of the Council of Ministers on 3 September 2016, will precede the 2nd extraordinary session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission.

The Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission will consider the Strategy for the Revitalization of the Organization, the Plan of Action (2015-2018) and Budget (2016-2017) prepared by the Executive Secretariat. The Heads of State and Government will also consider the request of the Republic of Ghana to adhere to the Treaty of the Gulf of Guinea Commission.
